Airport Security and Facilitation

Overview

Welcome to the Airport Security and Facilitation course.

This course elaborates on airport security and facilitation and the inter-relationships between the two subjects.

It will assist you to better understand key airport security requirements, the security regulatory framework in which airports currently operate, the industry’s approach to crisis management, and the growing importance of cybersecurity.

This course can be taken as part of the ACI-NA U.S. Airport Professional (USAP) Program for those wishing to develop the leadership and strategic management skills necessary to achieve success in the dynamic U.S. airport industry.

  • The basic security measures in place at airports.
  • The human factors that impact airport security.
  • The importance of a positive security culture.
  • The key components of the Airport Security Program.
  • The perimeter and access points at an airport.
  • The importance of quality assurance in airport security.
  • Best practices in preparing for, responding to, and reporting of security incidents.

3. U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS)

  • The roles and responsibilities of the DHS.
  • The creation of the DHS.
  • The applicable DHS component agencies and offices that airports routinely encounter.
  • The trusted traveler and trusted country programs that the DHS manages.

4. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

  • The roles and responsibilities of the TSA.
  • The creation and authorities of the TSA.
  • The applicable TSA regulations that airports must follow.
  • The latest developments regarding passenger screening checkpoints.

5. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)

Assessment

Each of the modules in this course include an integrated online assessment.
Candidates must successfully complete each end of module assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion for the course.
