Introduction to Aviation Security

Overview

The Introduction to Aviation Security course explores the history of aviation security and how major incidents have impacted and shaped airport security practices. 

It outlines the organizations involved in aviation security around the world and explores how international standards are met by countries, and national obligations are met by aviation industry participants – especially airports. 

The course also addresses the differences and similarities between safety and security practices and the roles and responsibilities of security related personnel at airports.

This course can be taken as part of the Certificate in Airport Security for those wishing to deepen their understanding of the key concepts and best practices associated with airport security and gain the knowledge required to address modern airport security challenges.

Competencies Obtained

Assessment

This course includes an integrated online assessment.  

Candidates must successfully complete the assessment to receive a Certificate of Completion.
